These groups are being formed in geographical areas to make them more convenient. Click here for group locations and other specific information.

Mission and Ministry
This track equips participants to become more effective in serving Christ in our contemporary cultural context.

  • “First Tuesday” Missional Reading Group...Discussion led by Gary Franklin
Purpose: To read and discuss authors who are wrestling with what it looks like to represent Christ in our current cultural setting. The hope is that our discussion will better equip us to represent Christ with greater effectiveness.
Format: The group gathers on the “First Tuesday” of each month to discuss book we are reading together. Group launches September 2, 7-9 pm. Please purchase your own book prior to the first meeting.
Fall 2008 Book Selection: Velvet Elvis By Rob Bell
Quote from the book:"The challenge for Christians then is to live with great passion and conviction, remaining open and flexible, aware that this life is not the last painting. Times change. God doesn’t, but times do. We learn and grow, and the world around us shifts, and the Christian faith is alive only when it is listening, morphing, innovating, letting go of whatever has gotten in the way of Jesus and embracing whatever will help us be more and more the people God wants us to be.”For information contact: Gary Franklin @ gary_franklin@bellsouth.net.

Learning Labs

We will host a variety of Learning Labs on January 28-31, 2009. A series of learning opportunities will be available ranging from biblical and theological studies, spiritual formation, mission and ministry skills, marriage and family and leadership development. We’ll gather together to invest in four evenings of focused learning together as a family. You’ll hear more about this later in the fall. But you’ll want to set aside these dates today!
